Deane Cooke has been exposed to the principles of safe, sensible weight training exercise literally
from the time he was born. His father owned and operated he very successful Cooke's Health Club in Toronto
for over 20 years. In his teens and early twenties Deane became passionate about building his body
and maintaining good health, competing in two Mr. Ontario Contests in the 1970's. When it became apparent
that in order to compete on a level playing field, one would have to resort to chemical assistance, he
decided to stay true to the values that his father had instilled in him; the objective of exercise should
be to enhance quality of life by sustaining good health, increasing strength, improving or maintaining
functional ability and building self-esteem. Deane has guided many clients over the years in achieving
their fitness goals through his safe, effective, time-efficient methods. In his mid-50's, he still practices
what he preaches, enjoying vibrant health and maintaining a lean muscular physique as evidenced by this
recent photograph. In addition to being Certified as an Exercise Practitioner by the International
Association of Resistance Trainers (I.A.R.T.*), he has applied his motivational and technical skills
to coaching soccer for 14 years (both boys and girls at an elite level), earning a National Coaching
Certification Level 2 standing.
